Ami (あみたん)
I'm Japanese. I'll write this honest review in English to avoid misunderstanding. I'll try to make it clear and short. For those who think this is authentic Japanese yakiniku (BBQ) it is NOT. 1. The food quality is 3/5 : Average quality. Don't expect the same quality as authentic Japanese yakiniku, because this is definitely NOT authentic. 2. The food portion is 1/5 : THE WORST portion I've ever seen. THE WORST deal. I got shocked. I ordered 3 a la carte meat dishes, and the pricing is obviously higher than the set menus, but how come the portion is less than the set menus? Please explain. Please do the calculation for me. Not just the portion, but they were served in a very thin slice! I'm a petite woman. I finished all 3 dishes within a few bites and am still hungry. 3. The food taste is 2/5 : The cabbage salad has too much dressing and it was too salty. All the meat has too much fat and less meat. 4. Genuineness is 2/5 : On top of the worst portion and value I've ever seen in my 36 years life as a Japanese yakiniku lover, I must say this restaurant is not honest with you. The "Korean Lettuce" is obviously just a regular lettuce and not "Sanchu" the actual Korean lettuce that they usually serve at Yakiniku shop. The actual portion and the images in the menu DO NOT ALIGN. 5. Price and Value is 1/5 : Overpriced for the quality and quantity. I paid S$32.97 for the food that only filled a quarter of my perite stomach. With such price, I can actually eat better food at Orchard. 6. Service is 4/5 : Average service, accommodating staffs. Hence 1 star for their efforts. It's a shame that this restaurant chain use Japanese name but serve low quality food. I have nothing but only regret on my bad decision. I've been working so hard and S$33 I paid didn't even fill up my stomach. 客をナメるな。
